YUKE’S Co., Ltd. (hereafter, “YUKE’S”) is pleased to announce that it handled the porting development work for the Nintendo Switch 2 action-shooter games Earth Defense Force 5 for Nintendo Switch 2 and Earth Defense Force 6 for Nintendo Switch 2, released by D3PUBLISHER INC. (Headquarters: Tokyo, Japan; President & CEO: Tomoaki Imanishi). 

 

 

The action-shooter game Earth Defense Force 5, originally released for PlayStation®4, PlayStation®5, and PC, and which has sold over 2 million copies worldwide, will be released on Nintendo Switch™ 2. Now, the satisfying excitement of battling gigantic enemies and defeating hordes of monsters can be enjoyed on the Nintendo Switch™ 2. Earth Defense Force is a popular action-shooter series that originated with 2003’s Monster Attack. This fifth installment in the mainline series is an all-new adventure in a reimagined Earth Defense Force setting, perfect for returning fans and series newcomers alike to play.

 

 

YUKE’S was responsible for the porting development work for Earth Defense Force 5 for Nintendo Switch 2, including Nintendo Switch™ 2 environment implementation, adjustments, and functionality checking. This release also contains a new feature, Local Mission Mode, which allows up to four people playing locally on the same Nintendo Switch™2 console to play cooperatively. Furthermore, this version supports two-player simultaneous split-screen play in TV mode.

 

 

In addition, Earth Defense Force 6, the latest mainline series installment and direct sequel to Earth Defense Force 5, is also planned for release on Nintendo Switch 2 this winter.
